Two: the grand finale

The actual birthday party was this past weekend, and it was a grand affair.  Almost more exciting than turning two was that we got to meet our new baby cousin Madelyn (Maddy!).  And boy were we excited, we should have gotten this on video.  She could not contain her excitement and just wanted to squeeze the bageezes out of her.

All four of the cousins:  Emmy, 5 years; Riley, 2 years; Alex, 21 months; and Maddy, 8 weeks.

The morning of our birthday party we had the amazing Kayla at Capture Photography take our photos.  I've seen a couple good ones and will be much surprised if there are any more.  She was not cooperative.  But show me a 2-year old that does cooperate when you need them to, I suppose.  We went immediately to her party after the photoshoot with Kayla even tagging along to get some photos of the party-goers.  I will be sure to post when I get them back.

Her party was in the Outlet Park at the Tuttle Creek River Pond.  Perfect venue, had the weather been about 10 degrees warmer.

Bubbles were the name of the game!

 

 

 

It was complete with an A-mazing cake that our good friend Jenny made for us.

 

 

And wouldn't have been the same without a child who does not like to be the focal point of the "Happy Birthday" song.

 

 

We hurriedly opened presents.  It was COLD!

 

 

Boy what a beautiful afternoon we ended up having!  The playing continued well into the evening.

 

 

 

Alex was lovin' this cousin birthday business.  And didn't mind if everything was purple and pink.

It was all topped off with church, La Fiesta (but of course), and an extra day spent with the Smith's who surprised us all the way from Houston.  What a great way to kick off a year of being TWO!
