Water!

Boy, we've had our fair share of summer already in that we love to be outside enjoying the warm weather!  Here's a random collage of water photos from the past month.

14 months

Yep, we achieved the ripe old age of 14 months yesterday.  She weighs 24 1/2 lbs. and is 31 1/4" long.  Holy Toledo.  What can I say, the girl loves to eat.  I noticed last night that her first molars are poking through, too.
What we're all about:

Emptying and filling drawers.  Pick a drawer, any drawer.

Giving Toro lot's of lovin'.

And vice versa.

Our princess ride.

And sitting in our big girl chair.

We know how to throw trash away, how to "go to our room", what it means to "go outside", and also how to sign "more", albeit, her own altered version of it (thanks to Nana & Papa).  She never ceases to amaze me.

Daddy's Day

I think Chad had a pretty good Father's Day.  We started it out with a very easy yet delicious sticky bun recipe from Pinterest, and followed that up with a litte gift from Riley.

"Fishing" you a Happy Father's Day.  Hardy har har.  Riley's foot was the fish, but as my Dad pointed out (our Dads got a simplified version), the foot to boat ratio is pretty large, therefore making her foot look more like a whale.  Aw whale (sorry, had to go there).

We had a great morning at church, not having been for awhile with being out of town and such.

Then it was lunch at La Fiesta and an afternoon of fun in the sun.

We finished the day off with steak, twice baked potatoes and yet another pinterest recipe:  Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cake.  Yes, you heard me right.  It was a TON of work, but very delicious.

Fishing and/or golfing weren't exactly on the agenda but soon enough I'm sure he'll have a little shadow that is going to love doing those things with him. :)

Splish, splash

Last Tuesday we took Riley to the Splash Park at City Park.  I figured for her to get the most enjoyment out of it we'd have to wait until she was a serious walker, and what better a time than the evening before her myringotomy (fancy term for getting tubes in ears).  Talk about a hoot!  She absolutely loved it.

We had to be careful because she loved to look down the little holes where water spewed out.  Some come out pretty forceful!  We had a close-call here:

We ended up having to leave because she was getting tired and getting tired means we don't walk as well (aka drunken sailor-mode).  She wasn't too happy about that.  We followed it up with Orange Leaf, another first for her.  Not a big fan of Daddy's chocolate yogurt, but she liked Mom's pineapple.  Go figure.

So long, limited mobility

WE'VE GOT A WALKER!!!!  And when I say walker, I mean a "we don't mess around with that crawling business anymore" type of walker.  Our cousin Alex must have inspired us Memorial weekend because when we returned from Oklahoma, it was ON!

As you can tell from this video, she already likes to ignore me.  Looks like it's going to be a looooong 18 years. ;)
