So maybe if it's in Spanish it won't be as difficult to grasp? Eh, worth a shot.
Our Roo is 10 months old today. The birthday party planning has begun. I'll refrain from once again describing how unbelievable that is and skip right ahead to her skillz.
She's a shovel-it-in bottomless pit and eats pretty much what we're eating now (minus me trying to get rid of the freezer pureed baby food every now and then). She honestly does not have an "I'm full" cue. We have to cut her off most of the time, evidence shown below.
We've successfully completed sleep training and are now sleeping all night again, hoooray! It wasn't nearly as rough as expected. Night 1, the Dad and I were prepared for a Wii Mario Kart all-nighter. She disappointed us (on a positive note, of course) and was out within 45 minutes (but I must add the first 15 min. she played and clapped). Night 2 was even less, night 3 even less. Now she's put down and within 5 minutes she's asleep (we still rock her for a bit, can't give that time up).
She's been shaking her head every now and then and we had no clue what that was all about. We finally realized it's her practicing "no". Great.
She's mastered stairs. Since we have none in our house, it was interesting to see how she'd handle them at Grammy & Guy's house. Needless to say, if that was our house we'd definitely have to invest in a couple baby gates.
We've started having fun with the game of "I'm going to get you". Everytime I say it I think of the Rodney Carrington quote, but the exact phrase is escaping me right now. If you know Rodney, you know what I'm talking about.
Believe it or not, the girl is bashful. Everytime she's confronted with a new person she gets all coy and turns her head (while smiling, of course). It doesn't take long for her to warm up, though.
She's started to associate the lip smackin' to actual kisses. The other day the Dad gave me the routine morning kiss goodbye. She smiled and started smackin' them lips. Too cute.
She LOVES soft things. This includes pillows, bed spreads, and Toro. We got her this giraffe pillow for Valentine's Day and it was love at first sight.
I think I jinxed her last month in that I said we were well on our way to getting our first steps in. She has no interest in walking right now. The thought does cross her mind every now and then as she sticks her hand out to gauge distance between two objects while we are cheering "Roo-oo, Roo-oo, Roo-oo" but she then quickly remembers it's a lot less risky to just fall to her knees and crawl. Aw well, in due time, we're in no hurry for that business.
